Benton Franklin Head Start Finance Assistant II in Richland, Washington

Our Mission: Benton Franklin Head Start partners with families and the community to promote school readiness through comprehensive services for young children and their families. Job Title: Finance Assistant II Position is full-time, 40 hours per week. The Finance Assistant II shall be responsible to assist the finance department; prepare accounts receivable; process check requests; maintain the check register; promote an atmosphere conducive to effective operations and safety; and ensure services are made available in a courteous and professional manner. Essential Job Responsibilities: ? Performs payroll functions to include coding, auditing, PTB/Vacation reports, and check request for Sep-IRA and UD. ? Performs in-kind duties to include review for completion and required calculations. ? Performs revenue and deposit functions. ? Performs accounts receivable functions to include, writing/entering/posting of deposits, preparation of monthly invoices, entering/posting of accounts receivable, and any necessary follow-up on accounts. ? Performs accounts payable functions to include, monthly rents and posting batches. ? Reconciles purchase orders with accounts payable. ? Processes check requests. ? Receives and distributes petty cash. ? Maintain the check register. ? Maintains productive customer relations with vendors. ? Participates in professional development and opportunities for growth. ? Demonstrates an on-going professional relationship with supervisors and co-workers. ? Responsible for documentation of in-kind contributions. Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required: ? AA degree with accounting emphasis preferred. ? High School Diploma or equivalent; and ? At least two years' work experience in a similar position. ? Extensive skill and knowledge in PC computers, accounting software, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases, including Microsoft office programs. ? Good oral communications and human relations skills. ? The ability to read, write, and understand English is essential. ? Good organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. ? Possess a valid driver's license, provide proof of current liability automobile insurance, maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record (insurable by the Agency's insurance carrier), and ability to provide own transportation. ? Sensitive to the needs of young children; willing and able to relate to children and adults from all ethnic, racial, religious, or socioeconomic backgrounds.
