Penske Enterprise API Management Lead in Reading, Pennsylvania

Penske is looking for an Enterprise API Management(APIM) Lead who is a passionate leader to drive our API modernization across the enterprise. This position will be responsible to lead the implementation of our Center for Enablement (C4E) while driving the Apigee platform end-to-end lifecycle governance. As a leader of the C4E, you will be responsible for managing the implementation roadmap, creating the standards for the platform, and serve as an advocate to train and onboard new business units. You will manage the application/product integration architecture blueprint for the organization and build implementation patterns for adoption. The individual will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on Penske’s data and modernization strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develop integration standards, establish proper governance, and create patterns for implementation.

  2. Be an advocate, establish, track KPI’s to grow and measure APIM C4E success.

  3. Provide guidance for on-premises and multi cloud-based digital product implementations. Work with different product development teams to define their API implementation approach.

  4. Oversee and advise multiple Business Units’ on their migrations and implementations .

  5. Be the IT owner of the developer portal and the self-service API catalog.

  6. Design, develop, and deploy Apigee solutions that meet the internal and external customer’s business and technical requirements.

  7. Partner with Enterprise Architecture and Security teams to develop and adhere to standards/ best practices.

  8. Work with the Platform Services and Cloud Engineering teams to implement the infrastructure components of the Apigee platform.

  9. Build and execute API functional and performance test plans.

  10. Define, architect, and implement a target-state API toolset that will enhance developer experience across the API lifecycle.

  11. Manage administration, support, and development audit of existing environments.

  12. Assess and optimize the performance and security of the API platform.

  13. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or 10+ years of experience in IT

  2. 2+ years experience as a leader in a C4E, COE or similar structure where you taught and tracked adherence to standards /best practices

  3. 4+ years of experience in microservices based integration architecture, platform design and ownership.

  4. Experience implementing API Solutions into major cloud provider platforms

  5. Experience with Enterprise Integration/Middleware solutions, such as Apigee , IBM Datapower, MuleSoft, Oracle, etc. is a plus.

  6. Strong knowledge in multiple integration methods/ technologies including HTTPS, REST, GraphQL, gRPC, SOAP, JSON, XML

  7. 4+ years of experience in API management and API modernization

  8. 2+ years of experience with containers and container management, such as Kubernetes is desired but not required

  9. Knowledgeable with Drupal portal

  10. Experience with DevOps/CI/CD tools and processes, such as Jenkins, Terraform, etc.

  11. Strong Knowledge of security standards and protocols including OAuth, SAML, JWT, etc. is desired

  12. Experience in the full Software Development Lifecycle and Agile methodology

  13. Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skill.
