Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking a Platform Owner to lead our Connected Finance Platform. With a focus on B2B and B2C relationships, this platform makes it easy for customers and external companies to integrate U.S. Bank data and services into their digital experiences. With our suite of services, we give customers and developers what they need — self-service access to managing U.S. Bank API products and financial data.

This role is responsible for all aspects of running the platform. With a cross functional team of product managers, designers, engineers, and agilists, the Platform Owner creates and drives the overall vision and strategy for the platform. This includes capabilities across 7 different focus areas: developer portal experience, sandbox & certification environments, customer onboarding & support, enterprise event-based APIs, and governance around API standards.

In particular, the role will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide a vision and roadmap for a best-in-class external developer experience, linking it to measurable business objectives

  • Clearly define objectives and key results (OKRs) that tie to business priorities. Communicate with key stakeholders as to how platform capabilities deliver on their priorities. Shape customer value propositions for digital products that are consistent with business strategies.

  • Hands on leader who leverages data, analytics, research, design and business understanding to ensure platform products manage risk while providing solutions and giving our customers great experiences.

  • Anticipate new marketplace trends, opportunities, and vulnerabilities and determine how these will impact the platform.

  • Partner with capability managers, delivery managers, architects, designers, scrum masters, business lines and other product managers to evangelize the best solutions and facilitate execution across the enterprise.

  • Leads, develops, & motivates team members to achieve peak performance and high job satisfaction

  • Inspire a broad and deep knowledge of KPI usage for data-driven decision making across the digital organization. Direct teams to tie tangible numbers to how they drive the strategic priorities of the organization.

  • Clearly communicate risks, challenges the team is facing in execution. Resolve roadblocks for team in a timely manner that allows us to deliver on-time.

  • Lead, develop and coach the team for maximum success.

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • 10 or more years of digital product management experience

  • Five or more years of managing API focused teams or functions

  • Seven or more years of experience managing digital product teams within the financial services industry

  • Extensive experience in overall management and distribution of APIs externally

  • Extensive experience defining standards and processes around external facing APIs

  • Excellent management, leadership and interpersonal skills

  • Exposure to or direct experience with enterprise IT environments and software development

  • Well developed leadership abilities and strategic management skills

  • Ability to communicate ideas crisply and clearly

  • Strong partnership skills and leadership through influence, with direct experience managing in a highly matrixed environment

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $180,710.00 - $212,600.00 - $233,860.00
