Job Description:

This job is responsible for supporting multiple security engineering efforts to deliver enterprise security capabilities. Key responsibilities include serving as a subject matter expert of security technology, overseeing major engineering milestones including the design, development, and implementation of systems, and reporting on key metrics. Job expectations include executing on engineering initiatives, partnering with cross-functional teams, solving complex issues within one or more security domains, and mentoring team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a subject matter expert for one or more engineering initiatives

  • Designs, develops, and implements systems to contribute to the protection of system boundaries, harden computer systems and network devices against attacks, and secure sensitive data

  • Drives complex technical information security projects to ensure on-time delivery and identifies and raises risks and potential vulnerabilities at all stages of the security engineering process

  • Leverages broad knowledge of information security technologies, techniques, and processes and prepares to grow knowledge within one or more security-engineering domains

  • Leads the identification, definition, and documentation of system security requirements

  • Leads work efforts with a diverse set of stakeholders with varying priorities to debate and negotiate paths forward

  • Drives the development and execution of test plans to produce quantitative results and thinks outside the box to develop and implement multiple solutions to complex problems

Strong IT/Information Security professional providing Production Support for multiple infrastructure applications and systems, while driving continued IT Operations Management service improvements. Possess strong analytical ability in solving IT problems, working towards automation, and elimination of systems and or process bottlenecks. Ability to lead and coordinate timely issue resolution for critical applications in partnership with other technicians from database, web service, network, storage, OS system admin, application developer, and management teams. Leverage skillset with Windows OS, Java, UNIX OS to aide in tools and process automation development. Provide services that include monitoring, documentation, change control, troubleshooting, and process improvement in support of tools operations.

Functions:

  • Troubleshoot, resolve system and endpoint issues.

  • Coordinate implementation of changes, break-fix, and upgrades to production systems.

  • Deliver technical documentation for all projects completed.

  • Service customer work requests for supported tools.

  • Perform root cause analysis for recurring problems by partnering with other teams and vendors to develop long-term resolutions, including implementing preventative measures to minimize problems and production outages.

  • Manage production changes, releases, and upgrades in a collaborative environment in accordance with lifecycle methodology and risk guidelines and data management.

  • Supports the 24x7 day-to-day maintenance of the infrastructure application systems in operation, including tasks related to identifying and troubleshooting application and data issues and issues resolution or escalation.

  • Weekends and after hours on-call on a rotational basis.

  • Perform testing and shakeout procedures during/after active incidents or deployments during or after regular business hours.

  • Monitor Production environments / scheduled jobs and identify improvement to monitoring.

Required Skills:

  • 8+ years of Information Technology (preferably Information Security) experience.

  • Good Windows, UNIX, Linux, Wintel, systems administration skills.

  • Information security knowledge as well as endpoint tools experience.

  • Strong problem root cause diagnosis skills and desire to learn processes, new products, applications, and technology.

  • Manages activities related to maintenance of the application systems that are running the daily operations of the firm.

  • Ability to work as part of a team - Candidate will work closely with Engineering, Technology, Vendors, and other teams.

Desired Job Skills:

  • Technical hands-on skills working with Tools like Tanium, Crowdstrike, Qualys, Rapid7, Tenable, Skybox.

  • Great soft skills – People and communications skills are essential.

  • Good proficiency in system, network, security and database operations, protocols, and industry standard technologies.

  • Experience in command line interfaces (CLI), third party APIs and integration.

  • Experience in server administration with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows Server

  • Good understanding of developing fault tolerant solutions and knowledge in horizontal scaling and resiliency/HA.

  • Ability to juggle competing priorities and adapt to changes in project scope.
