What You’ll Get to Do:

You will use your specialized Linux System Engineering skills to support the design, engineering and implementation of complex mission networks. Your adept interpersonal and facilitation skills will enable you to bridge collaboration across the multiple departments responsible for networks within the client space. You will analyze and resolve problems associated with the operating system's servers, hardware, applications, and software. You will monitor systems performance and ensures compliance with security standards. You will inform network owners and client management regarding best practices, security standards, internal policy and implementation progress on a visible project.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • An active TS/SCI with required Polygraph clearance

  • University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 15 years of related work

  • Approximately 15 years or more experience with systems and application administration

  • Experience as a Linux systems administrator and engineer

  • Demonstrated experience with maintaining, scheduling, executing software and hardware upgrades, patches and reconfigurations

  • Demonstrated experience with identifying and troubleshooting hardware and software issues with workstations and servers

  • Demonstrated experience with systems monitoring alerts, communication and resolution

  • Understanding of network devices (e.g. Cisco, Juniper, etc.)

  • Understanding of firewall management

  • Experience with backup and restore

  • Ability to draw detailed diagrams and write clear documentation

  • Must be able to accommodate a flexible work scheduled which MAY include nights, weekends or holidays are required.

  • Ability to multitask tasks simultaneously

  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Experience in ticket-based work environments

  • Experience performing network analysis to include packet inspection and load balancing

  • Basic understanding of virtualization technologies (e.g. VMWare, ESXi)

  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g. Python, Bash, Perl)

  • Experience with JIRA and confluence

  • Experience in either the design, implementation, procurement, or maintenance of various layers of network infrastructure

Desired Requirements:

  • Experience developing administrative guides to document system troubleshooting, patching, and upgrading

  • Experience implementing and documenting security processes and policies

  • Candidate should be a self-starter and possess a willingness to dive into new technologies

  • Flexibility -- works well both independently and as a team player; must be eager to learn

  • Detail oriented, organized, able to multitask, and adaptable to shifting requirements

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$102,900 - $216,200
