Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant based in Buffalo, New York. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing financial reports, overseeing general accounting operations and ensuring accuracy in all accounting tasks. As a senior member of the team, you will also play a pivotal role in managing a team of accountants and junior accountants.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare financial reports to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and tax liabilities.

• Oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions.

• Analyze financial reports and forecasts using excellent analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of accounting principles.

• Ensure accuracy and effectiveness in all accounting tasks.

• Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions and team members.

• Perform general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.

• Prepare periodic balance sheets, reconcile account balances and bank statements.

• Deliver timely and accurate cash flow reports.

• Address inquiries from the bank and maintain the general ledger.

• Prepare the month-end and year-end close accurately and on a timely basis.

• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.

• Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.

• Assist with tax audits and tax returns.

• Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending. Requirements

• Proficient in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations.

• Demonstrable experience with General Ledger and Journal Entries.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

• Previous experience with Month End Close procedures.

• Knowledge of NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP is desirable.

• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data to produce clear, concise reports.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.

• Proven ability to maintain high levels of accuracy in all work.

• Demonstrable problem-solving abilities.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent accounting certification is a plus.

• Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
